Lani Wong to Replace William Flippin

DeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Burrell Ellis announced his appointment of Lani Wong to a two-year term on the board of the Development Authority of DeKalb County following confirmation by the Board of Commissioners.  Ms. Wong will finish William Flippin’s term. Flippin resigned earlier this year.

Ms. Wong is the Chair of the National Association of Chinese-Americans.  She is a pioneer in her vision and foresight in promoting U.S.-China relations, excellence in education, the participation of Asian Americans in the American political process, and the importance of charitable organizations in serving the needs of the DeKalb community.

Ms. Wong and her family have lived in DeKalb County since 1977.  She sits on numerous boards throughout metro Atlanta, including the Saint Joseph’s Hospital Health System Board of Trustees, Delta Air Lines Global Diversity Alliance Board of Directors, Georgia Perimeter College Foundation Board of Trustees, the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce’s Global Business Council, the Atlanta Women’s Foundation Board of Directors, the Georgia Women’s Institute Charter Board of Directors, and the Sheltering Arm Teaching Center Board of Directors.
