ATLANTA -- A third of Dobbs Elementary School's classrooms were flagged for cheating on the 2009 CRCT, according to a state report released Tuesday.
Special investigators first appointed by Gov. Sonny Perdue found, "Multiple fifth grade teachers testified that their incoming students lacked the skills required to score as highly as they did on their fourth grade CRCT."
The report singled out three fourth grade teachers in the cheating: Derrick Broadwater, Shayla Smith and Angela Williamson.
Williamson was accused of prompting students with the correct answers, then threatening them "by telling them they would have to repeat the fourth grade if they ever told of the cheating."
Broadwater and Smith were accused of preparing students for the CRCT using a photocopy of the actual test. In sworn testimony, a colleague quoted Smith as saying "I had to give them the answers, those kids are dumb as hell."
Smith has denied any cheating.
Broadwater and Williamson were among four teachers who confessed to cheating.
