The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Announces The Atlanta Light The Night Walk

The Georgia Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) will present the annual Atlanta Light The Night Walk (LTN) on Saturday, November 5 at 4 p.m. at Centennial Olympic Park. The Walk encourages teams of families, friends, co-workers and local and national corporations to come together to raise funds for LLS. This year’s Walk will be hosted by Star 94’s Holly Firfer and 11Alive’s Fred Kalil.

"We are excited about the upcoming Light The Night Walk at Centennial Olympic Park on Saturday, November 5th," said Dick Brown, executive director of the LLS Georgia Chapter.

"More than 10,000 participants will light the night with hope and inspiration for cancer patients. We are truly thankful for our corporate sponsors, teams and volunteers for their hard work in preparing for the Walk and for raising critically needed funds to help give patients a better, longer life."

The walk will draw over 300 teams, who have committed to raise $1.5 million for LLS. Funds will be used to fund lifesaving blood cancer research, free educational materials and events for patients and families, local family and patient support programs and comprehensive, personalized assistance through LLS’s Information Resource Center and financial aid for patients and their families. During the event, walkers carry illuminated balloons - white for survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer -- and form a community of caring, bringing light to the dark world of cancer.

Carter’s/ Osh Kosh is the Walk’s Presenting Sponsor and Target is the Platinum Sponsor. 11Alive is proud to be a media partner of the Atlanta Light The Night Walk.
